![]() The price of the V-Type is closer to the Seventy 80 than to the other Classic Celestions. ![]() The magnet on the V-Type is even lighter than the M magnet, while the V30 uses the H magnet, so they're not the same speaker at all - don't know about the V30MF though, put it on the scales to compare.įor me the V-Type looks more like a re-activation of the V60 from the discontinued "Silver Series", a speaker that was quite popular with manufacturers of budget priced cabs (Laney, Engl). It's impossible to confirm as celestion can't release any info on marshall exclusive celestions, and marshall won't give out any info either but the v-type being effectively a v30 with different dust cap and a few other alterations to improved the low end and scrub a little of the high mid harshness which can be associtaed with the v30, which is what the MF speaker is and it seems to me impeccable timing that this new speaker was released not long after the mode four v30s stopped being produced. Im glad that each year I get to play whatever Celestion is rolling out in advance at the New York Amp Show (in Piscataway, NJ). ![]() Sully807 wrote:The more I compared the vtype to the v30mf the more I think they are the same speaker.
